Truly an amazing experience with knowledgeable Egyptologists (special thanks to Timo and Ali) and well-oiled logistics in a country that can prove challenging to navigate for some. The highlight was ... s surely the cruise on the Nile on their newest boat with lovely sights, confortable rooms and delicious cuisine throughout the journey. Totally worth it.

My wife and I have wanted to go to Egypt to see the pyramids. It is a bucket list trip. This trip was FANTASTIC. My wife worked with Suzan Youssef at Terre d'Egypte to help plan our adventure. We ... e started with Amir Samir, in Cairo. He took us to see the very first pyramid, the Great Pyramids of the Giza plateau (where we also rode a camel), museums, churches, mosques, and synagogues. It was an information filled three days we will never forget. We were also introduced to Koshari, an Egyptian dish. We continued our trip flying to Luxor, where we met Khaled Alhowary who would be our guide for the rest of our trip. We spent two days visiting Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, El Medina (where we saw the tombs of the "supervisors"), temples at Al Karnak and Luxor. We then drove to Esna to board our dahabiya. Here we met Moustafa and Mamoud who were excellent. Moustafa was the number one host for the trip. He'll understand when he sees this. ;) The trip up the Nile was five peaceful and adventurous days. We visited several temples, villages and other sites. You may find other postings about the dahabiya being towed. It should be understood that the trip is up river. To rely solely on wind power, you would never make it from point A to point B without a tow. It never took anything away from the experience or the sites. The temples and sites were very memorable, informational, and awe inspiring. We felt taken care of every step of the way. Our guides always made sure that we were taken care of and safe. When ever my wife had a question or concern, she would send out a text to Suzan who immediately responded and made sure we were at ease. She would check back to make sure we were fine. Because we were the only English speaking people in the group, we had our own guide. It was like having a private tour of our own. We shared the dahabiya ride with a group of people from France who had their own French guide. We had a great time. By the way, the weather in November was fantastic. Any American who ever had any questions about doing a trip to Egypt, I highly recommend the Terre d'Egypte tour group.

We took a Dahabiya boat from Luxor to Aswan. It was absolutly perfect. The boat is small and very calm. You have a small room but thats enough. The food is delicious, and the waiters always take good ... d care. We saw a lot of historical monument and what really make the difference is that we shared moments with the locals. We visit two small villages, we drank tee in a nubian family, and the guide always take us to the monument when there’s not much tourists. Our guide, Ali, was absolutly perfect. Really intelligent, smart, funny and does everthing to explain and to take good care on us. I would totally recommand to go with Terre d’Egypte.

She helped is put together ... r the perfect itinerary for our trip of a life time. From the moment we arrived until the end we were informed, cared for by the most lovely team of people. Our personal guide (English speaking) Talaat was a wealth of knowledge on everything Egypt He assisted us at all sites and was a wonderful companion. The experience on the 5 day Dahabiya was something like a dream. The food cooked fresh by chef Ali was exceptional and delicious, every meal. A very special thanks to the whole friendly crew of the Dahabiya Terre D'Egypte. The cruise will be such a special memory for is both. Highly recommend the Dahabiya experience over the larger cruise ships. We called in and stopped at places the larger ships cannot access any the peace of sailing with just the sound of the water is a perfect way to see the day to day life along the Nile float by. Thank you to the whole Terre D'Egypte team. 5 stars are not enough.
